BMW CarPlay retrofit
Older BMWs with the small iDrive screen, or no screen at all. A wide 10–12" screen made for your dash, with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, that still uses your iDrive knob. Few installers around Atlanta do these. I do them regularly.
Two kinds of BMW dash
Has a factory screen
The new wide screen replaces it in the same spot and plugs into the car. iDrive knob, steering wheel buttons and the factory camera keep working.
Has the storage pocket, no screen
The screen goes where the pocket was. On some cars that means cutting the dash for the screen housing, which is more work.
The unit has to match your car's iDrive generation (CIC, NBT, EVO). Send me a photo of your dash and your year and model and I'll tell you which one to buy.
Questions people ask
Does the iDrive knob still work?
Yes. The screens made for BMW plug into the iDrive controller and use it for the new interface as well as the factory menus.
Do I lose the factory features?
No. The factory system is still there underneath. You switch to it from the new screen.
Which screen should I buy?
It depends on the year, model and which iDrive your car has. Text me a photo of the dash and I'll send you the right one. Don't buy first.
